The Amsterdam High School Indoor Percussion Band is a unique performing ensemble that combines music, rhythm, and visual performance through the arts. Under the direction of Troy Fritchette, students dedicate countless hours to rehearsing challenging musical pieces and choreography while building teamwork, discipline, and creativity.
Although the program is still young, the ensemble has already achieved great success. The Amsterdam Indoor Percussion group proudly earned the title of NYSPC Scholastic Standstill Bronze Medalists, a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of these students.
This is only the program’s second year competing, and the performers continue to push themselves to grow and elevate their show each season. For the 2026 season, the group is performing a themed production titled “The Museum,” which brings music and storytelling together in a creative visual experience.
To help bring this show to life, the ensemble is working to add costumes and visual props that will enhance the overall performance and artistic presentation — elements that can significantly impact competition scores.
Your support helps provide these students with opportunities to grow, perform, and represent Amsterdam High School with pride. Thank you for supporting the arts and our incredibly dedicated percussion students.
